CCC's Leave Duane Robinson of Portland and Victor Delucchl of San Francisco, who have been discharged from the CCC, left for their homes last evening on the Southern Pacific. Arrest Youth Billy Carpenter, 14. was arrested at Daynard's sawmill In the Dead Indian district yesterday by state police, on & warrant Issued out of Josephine county. The youth, with another 15-year-old boy, was charged with robbing a store at Selma, Ore., on two occasions. The boy was taken to Grants Pass by the officers. I eaves Hospital Dave Penoe of Trail, who has been a patient In the Community hospital, left yesterday, and Is staying at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Dlts worth, in Medford. Mrs. Pence Is also spending a few days In Medford. Vacation In North Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ege, who attended to business matters in Medford, have gone to Portland to spend two weeks vaca tioning. Their home is In San Fran cisco, and Mr. Ege represents the Fidelity and Casualty company of New York. Robinson In Hospital Tom Rob inson, city traffic officer, Is In the St. Vincent's hospital m Portland, where he Is expected to undergo an operation this week. Robinson will probably be in the hospital for about two weeks, a telegram received today by Chief of Police Clatous McCredle stated, Special Prayer Meeting A special prayer meeting will be held at the First Christian church tonight, start ing at 7:45 o'clock, under leadership of Walter O. Crank. Topic for the evening will be "How our Bible came down to us." All are Invited to at tend and gain information on how the Bible was handed down through the ages. Examiner This Week Ward Mc Reynolds, examiner of operators and chauffeurs, will be In Medford from 0 a. m. to 8 p. m. on Saturday of this week, on a special trip, according to information received by the police, McReynolda was unable to give exam inations to all applicants last week, and for that reason 1s returning here for a day. He will also be here on Friday and Saturday of the following week. Ingram Arrested William R. In gram, 35, a salesmen from Eugene, was arrested yesterday by the state police, on charges of reckless driving. Jngram was scheduled to appear be fore Justice of the Peace W. R. Cole man In this city. August 22. The complaint states that Ingram passed two long rows of cars at an excessive rate of speed, narrowly averting a head-on collision each time. The ar rest was made on the Pacific highway south of Phoenix. As a feature of this program in southern Oregon, the Jackson County Building and Loan association made public today a plan of completely remodeling one of their properties with accurate, care ful check on costs for the benefit of home owners. The house at 1506 West Main street, In almost dilapidated conditions, has been selected by officials of the asso ciation and workmen will begin im mediately on completely renovating the property. Local labor and ma terials will be used and, when the remodeling is completed, cost figures will be made public. People of this city will be Interested In viewing this property now so that they may see the posibllltles of renovating old houses. LOSES TWO F WILLIAMS CREEK, Aug. 15. (Spl.) R. F. Lewman had two fingers cut off of his left hand one day last week and another badly lacerated, while putting hay Into the barn. Hla fingers got caught In the rope of the fork, drawing him up Into the air to the hay window, before he succeeded In making the others hear. He was rushed Immediately to Grants Pass for treatment. These changes will be affective on the Unit ed Air Lines ships through Med- xom. The reductions, Mr. Martlndale said, show a decrease of about two- thirds from Hating of three years ago. The changes are affective throughout the Railway Express sys tem. The minimum charge is now 85 cents, Instead of a dollar as prev iously, according to Mr. Martlndale.
