Mrs. Vivian Barto received word Tuesday that a picture of Crater Lake painted by her has been ac cepted to hang in the department of agriculture office in the new Port land postofflce building. She was congratulated upon "being Instru mental In helping to raise the stand ard of American art and bring Ore gon scenery more vividly to the pub He." Evala Valley also has another artist, r. Hatfield, lately arrived from Minneapolis, who expects to make hla homo here.
