HITLER RELAXES SUPPRESSION OF REVOLT LEADERS (Continued icom page one) urea used to quell the "aecond revolu tion," and announced that hence forth the regular court of Justice will handle offenders against the nasi regime. , The order waa made effective July 1. Eye On Berlin. An end to extreme suppressive measures, together with aaaurance of the appointment of Hermann Wll helm Ooerlng aa vice-chancellor of Germany and the resignation of Franc von Papen aa Hitler's chief aide fo cussed the eyes of the nation on Ber lin. Two groups were In conference to determine the further fate of the Fatherland. One was an Important session of the cabinet In Chancellor Hitler's offices where the von Papen resignation waa being discussed. Another waa a meeting of the Inner council of the nazl party. From Munich came the strong rumor of the death of Oustav von Kahr, Bavarian premier who turned against Hitler after plotting with him In his 1923 "beer putsch." Otherwise there seemed a lull in the sensation ally bloody developments that have kept all Germany on edge since Sat urday. Death List Shrinks. The nasi press department Issued an official estimate of the . number killed during the "second revolution' as "below sixty.' The official list, It was stated, will be made public aa soon as a few remaining cases rtlll to be Judged are disposed of. The cabinet, as the governing in- strument of the nation, finds Itself confronted with a multitude of problems arising out of recent events, There are problems such as deter mining Germany's position with reier- ence to foreign nations as a result oi the cleansing process, and economic problems connected with the smash ing of the storm troops. At Munich, where ordinarily many of the nasi party chieftains do their work, the brown house was deserted. Even Victor Lutze, successor to Er nest Roehm as chief of staff of the Brown shirts, was absent. In the southern German city, how ever, the magnitude of Saturday's killings was gradually becoming ap parent despite an official silence. It was reported there that naal vengeance had claimed the life of a Catholic priest, Father Buhler, who waa serving a short prison term for outspoken criticism of Chancellor Hitler. It was said he had been shot in bis cell.
