havo any frolicking time In the fin

mighty midget of Spokane, and Miss
Marian McDougall, sun-bronzed Port
land performer, capturing the cham
pionships by lopsided scores.
Storey, the. littlest guy In the meet,
won the biggest prize awarded by
disposing of Ralph Whaley, Seattle,
8 and 8, while Miss McDougall was
conquering Mrs. Don Scott, Bremer
ton, S and 7.
By virtue of their victories, Storey
brought the title back to Spokane
tor the first time In eight years and
Miss McDougall gave the Rose City
Its first women's crown In 81 sea
sons. Only twice has Portland been
victorious In the feminine race and
that was back In 1903 and 1000.
Both of the now chaplons were up
all day, gaining their leads on the
first nine holes this morning ana
adding additional holes every so of
ten as they thrilled a gallery of 3000
persons as far as they went over the
36-holo -route.
Storey, whose only other claims to
titles being In Inland Empire tour
naments here, won one-hole advan
tage on the first nine, gained four
more on the way home and went
nine head at the 37th. He finished
the contest by halving the short
38th with a three, and was one un
der par for the day.
