Soule, adjutant at the Medford district CCC headquarters, is leaving today for Vancouver Barracks, to move his household goods to Med ford, having been ordered her perma nently. Cobb, left Mondiy for their home at Salem, having spent the Jubilee week here. Mrs. E. R Cobb plans to visit with her son for some time. Woodshed Burns A woodshed burned to the ground at 743 West Fourteenth street shortly afternoon today. The cause of. the blaze was not determined, according to Fire Chief Roy Elliott. The fire scorched a wood shed nearby, he reported. The shed belonged to Harry Lewi. Pursuits Here Three new Boeing pursuit ships of the 26 type, were set down at the Medford Municipal air port this morning by Captain W. A. Maxwell, Lieutenant Thayer Olds ana Lieutenant Clark Piper. The ships were being taken from Seattle to March field at Riverside, Calif. Porter Visits Sister Junior Porter, who has been attending the Univer sity of Oregon, is spending a week m Grants Pass visiting Mr, ana Mrs. Charles Hampson and baby daughter Patricia. Mrs. Hampson is his sister. He then plana to continue to Medford to spend the summer. Wall Street, as a whole, continued to look for higher prices, although commentators warned that technical reactions could be expected on the upward climb. RECRUITERS FINAL CALL IS FOR WARDMASTERS TECHNICIAN Sergeant Jennings D. Lowman, who Is closing the U. S. army recruiting station in Medford, announced to day that the army needs two ward masters and one operating room technician for service with the medi cal department, United States army forces In china. In addition to the standards re quired for army enlistment, the fol lowing qualifications must also be met: Men must have had previous army service, must have been last discharged with character excellent, must not be under 21 years of age nor over 35 years, must have resided In the united States at least two years since last foreign service tour, must be a natural born citizen of the United States. The applicants who have been dis charged for a period of over 90 days must furnish outline of where they have resided since discharge, togeth er with the beginning and ending dates at each place. They will also be required to furnish, character ref erence verifications, and the appli cants must be prepared to pay their own expenses to San Francisco and be prepared to act without delay.
