Over 4600 spectators from all parts of Oregon witnessed the program events, wnicn giu outstanding In their respective di visions. ; - : ' Another capacity crowd greeted the mnnduo this afternoon when an en tirely new group of riders and horses performed. Tne oonciuaing snces are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and evening, closing the highly successful Diamond Jubilee celebration. The 13 best riders In each division of the roundup will vie for grand 'prize money at to morrow night's show, for which spec ial program events sre being planned. The game was featured by Jack Hughes' brilliant pitching and the heavy hitting of McLean, Hoffard and Halght of the winners. Not a hit co run was made off Hughes' delivery until the ninth Inning when Manager Hall of the Miners crashed out i Texas leaguer over second base, spoil' Ing Jack's chances for a perfect game. Hammersly followed Hall with i other single, followed by White's two- base hit, which scored Hall from sec ond for the Miners' only score. Hoosler Hoffard, with four hits In four times at the plate was the lead Ing hitter of the day. Hoffard crashed out a home run, a triple and two singles. Cliff McLean laced out home run, triple and single In five times at the plate, while Hal Halght connected with two three baggers and a single In four trips to the rubber, Manager Hall fell victim to the hid- den ball trick In the sixth Inning, after he had reached second on Hof- fard'a error, the only error charged against the Rogues for the day. Hall, beaming from ear to ear at having reached second, merrily sauntered off the base, only to be tagged out by Halght. Hall Is still wondering where the ball came from. The game with the Warm Springs Indians has been cancelled accord ing to Manager Halght. Inability to draw large enough crowds at the Jacksonville ball park was given as the reason, . Bobby Crulck ahank, the dlmunltlve Scot from Rlohmond, Va., duplicated hla first round 71 with another sensational exhibition of golf today and took a big lead with a total of 142 for the flrat 39 holea of the U. s. open championship. A black cat crossed Crulckshank's path on the eleventh, where he got Into hla first serious trouble and carded a six. Bobby's drive was pull ed to the rough and he smashed his second into thick woods. The cat was pawing with his ball when he located it In thick underbrush. He used a Jigger after finding It Im possible to get a good stance and knocked the ball out to the edge of a trap, then chipped on and took two putts from 20 feet.' . Crulckshank shook off one of the two rivals with whom he was tied at the end of the first round, when Charley Lacey of New York, who was wild, finished his second round with a 78 and totaled 149. Both finished long before Wlffy Cox of Brooklyn, who had yesterday's third .71, had even started hli second round. Trailing Crulckshsnk by five shots were Horton Smith, Chicago entry and Leo Dlegel of Philadelphia, each with 147. Smith shot a 73, one stroke better than this first round score, while Dlegel made up a lot of ground with a' brilliant finish.
