Hawaiian Islands
Mr, nd Mr. Nlon Tucker of Bur
llngnmo, Calif., who arrived her by
motor last Tuesday to spend several
dnys at Rogue' Boost, their aummor
lodge on the river, plan to tail mis
Friday from Los Angeles for Hono
lulu, Hawaii, to vacation for a month.
Upon their return to the mainland,
Mr. and Mra. Tucker will again come
to Rogue's Roost, and entertain
number of their friends, whom they
have already Invited to Join them
here.
In two weeks, their daughter, Miss
Phyllis Ann, will entertain with a
house party at Rogue's Roost, for
guests who will accompany her to
Medford from Burllngame and Han
Francisco. Later In the month Mas
ter Nlon Tucker. Jr., will bring sev
eral of hla friends here from the bay
district for a house party.

Breakfast Tuesday
As a part of educational day at
Ashland, Tuesday, June 5, Sigma
Epsilon PI, women's honorary society
at the Southern Oregon Normal
school Is giving a commencement
breakfast at the Llthla hotel In Ash
land at eight o'clock.
All girls In the graduating class,
present members of tho organization
as well as those who formerly be-
longed, are welcome. The graduates
will go from the hotel to Llthla park,
where the graduation exercises are to
be held.

a dinner dance Thursday evening
at the Colonial club. Two honor
guests were Miss Doris Bnler, coach
for the play "Tiiko My Advice," and
Mrs. L. A. Early. .

' St. Mark's oulld met Thursday for
cafeteria luncheon at the hortie of
Mrs. V. 0. Relmcr on the Pacific
highway near Talent. Twenty-eight
were present. During the business
meeting the officers were re-elected
for the coming year.

president; Mrs. C. C. Murray, vice
president; Mrs. M. M. Herman, sec
retary and Mrs. R. W. Frame, treas
urer. The next meeting will b in the

Given at Valley School
Class day exercises at the Valley
school Friday wore attended by an
enthuslaatlo audience, and about 13ft
were present for the luncheon served
on the terraces at noon. Miss I.
Marie Foss, who has been principal
of the eehool for the past four
years, has resigned her position, and
will be succeeded by Miss Naomi Hoh
man, now a member of tho faculty.
' "Smile Magic" waa the title of the
operetta presented by the pupils,
which waa given under the direction
of Mrs. Maurlne Duncan. Jeanne Sal
ade, who took the part of Molly,
the girl lost In the woods, waa com
plimented for her tine singing.

Jacksonville Thursday
Ladies Aid of the Jacksonville Pres

display at the church there Thursday

be held at the church. Some of the
quilt whleh will be on display, ac

During Celebration
Mr. and Mrs. Don Welch arrived
In Medford Saturday afternoon to
spend the week attending the Dia-

the city they will be the house guest
ot Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fen.
On Tuesday evening, Mr. and Mrs.
Perl will entertain with a bridge
party honoring the Welches, and Mr.
and Mrs. Larry Schade are also en
tertaining for them during their
stay. Mrs. Welch U Mr. and Mrs
Schade 's niece.
Lincoln Sertfre Club
To Have Jubilee Booth
The Lincoln Service club will con
duct a food booth at the corner of
Main and Central streets during the
Diamond Jubilee, the proceeds to be
used for hot lunches to be served the
children of the Lincoln school next
term.
California Folk Make
Trip to Crater Lake
Dr. and Mrs. E. Lewis Prebsting
and children, Edward and Dorothy
Mae. of Davis, Cel., were guests In
Medford during the past week. On
Tuesday they motored to Crater Lake,
accompanied by Mrs. Minnie G
Heinle. Dr. Proebstlng's aunt. Dr.
Proebsting Is a member of the Uni
versity of California faculty.
Royal Neighbors Give
Dance and Card Party
On Thursday evening, the Royal
Neighbors entertained with a dance
and card party, which was attended
by many guests. Mrs. Gentry was
awarded the prize at bridge. In
charge for the evening, were Neigh
bor Alice Lewis and her committee.
Captain Edith Beck and her team
presented the fancy drill which they
have prepared for the R. N. A. dis
trict convention In Ashland, wednea
day. June 6. The beautiful drill was
greatly enjoyed by the guests.
The next regular meeting of the
camp has been postponed, It was an
nounced at the gathering.
Party Friday
After Graduation
After the commencement exercises
at the high school Friday evening,
Fldrenee Glfford entertained t group
of her friends with a dancing party
at the home of her parents, on the
Old Stage road.
Several stunt were given during
the evening which caused great
merriment. Decorations were carried
out In blue and white. Refreshments
were served by the hostess.
