Hanley, retiring mem " ber was elected to life membership as honorary chairman of the oounty oom mittM in a.nntclatlon for her alxteen years of continued service as member and chairman of the county commit tee. Projeots to be taugn on alternative muutii project leaders. Another new feature of the program will be a farm women's camp In jack son county to be held August 9-13. probably at Lake of the Woods. In foods and nutrition, breadmak Ing, menu planning, table aervlce pro jects were approved. In clothing and textiles, projects on making and use of the foundation pattern, and buy menshlp will be given. In child de velopment, radio study olubs will be continued and the project will start with a oounty-wide school for par ants, m recreation and dramatics, rec reation training meetings will be con tinued with special schools In recrea tion, music, dramatics and public peaking. The county dramatics con test will also be held again. . Following the adoption of the ooun ty program by the committee, the home demonstration agent Is meeting with eaoh unit In May for the purpose of planning the local program. These meetings were held last week at Eagle Point, Talent and Central Point. Ap plegate unit will meet May 7, at 1:30, at thme Applegate school, Mrs. Lee Port, chairman. Valleyvlew will meet May 8, at 1:30, at the olub house, Mrs. J. R. Mccracken, chairman. Trail unit will meet May 10, at the home of Mrs. Eva Segessman, at 10:30 a. m. THIRTYDAYSFOR GASOLINE THEFT a Bailey, 91, who was released from the state penitentiary about two months ago, and John Smith, S3, both orchard workers here, were sentenced to 80 days In the county Jill and fined M.HO costs In Justice court following their onterlng guilty pless to stealing gasoline. . The two youtha were arrested by elty officers in the Siskiyou Heights Friday snd were taken into court on charges of petty larceny. Bailey was sentenced to the state penitentiary in October, 1033, for a period not to exceed four years, for stealing two revolvers, a rifle and a camera from the automobile of State Police Bergeant James O'Brien of Hertford. Mrs. Donnle Medford DUllnger, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oeorge M. Wilson, was bora In a dwelling, the site of which Is now occupied by the Medford poetoffloe, Medford wsa officially nsmed February 17, 1884, and shortly ifterward little Miss Donnle Med ford Wilson came into the world. Quite a number of years ago she moved away, and has been living in Portlsnd, Ore., for some time. She will not only help celebrste Oregon's birthday, but Medford's golden Jubilee ss well. TO AND HOLD RALLY Organisation of a local "Martin for Governor" club was announced here yesterday with plana for a rally meet ing Thursday night to greet Edward Bailey of Eugene, member of the state campaign committee, who will address the gathering of supporters from this section. The club Is headed by Fred L. Heath, Sr., as president. The commit tee, which will assist him In extend ing the membership to the various communities of the county is com posed of the following men: Gordon Voorbles, A. . Reames. EARL SNELL PAYS VISIT TO VALLEY Earl SnelJ, Republican candidate for secretary of state, arrived In Medford yesterday morning on his campaign tour and after a short visit here continued to Klamath Palls by plane as guest of W. H. "Heine" Flubrer. H. 8. Deuel also accompanied the candidate to the neighboring city. Returning to Medford later In the day, Mr. Snell spent the remainder of Saturday here, calling on friends and meeting many new ones. He an nounced as his slogan,1 "Snell for satisfactory service as secretary of state.' , Tom Dalley, 33, arrested by Medford city police Thursday noon for at tempting to cash a 40 check made out to Stanley E. Elanemann, Is being held In the city Jail awaiting advice from Seattle postal authorities. Dalley, according to Chief of Police Clatoua McCredle, admitted yesterday after noon that he took the letter con taining the check from a mall box on the Pacific highway near the Rid dle Junction Wednesday morning. Postmaster Frank DeSou&a. notified postal Inspection authorities In Se attle, giving them the details of the ease to see If they wished to take it over. Chief McCredle said this afternoon It was understood here warrant had been Issued for Dalley In Douglas county on the charge. Army Places Open For Tropical Service The Army recruiting officer, Ser geant Jennings D.
