PAGE TWELVE MEDFORD MXTL TRIBUTE, MEDFOTtD, OREGON, FRIDXT, 'APRIL' 20, 1931 FEHL'S BUSINESS BUILDING TAKEN BY MORTGAGEES A sheriffs deed, on a mortgage foreclosure for $6373.43 against the Pacific Record-Herald property on Slrrth street, formerly owned by Earl H. Fehl, now serving four years tuta prison, on conviction of vote stealing conspiracy, has been filed In recording department of the clerk's office. The deed awards the property to Ted Helmroth of Grlffen creek, and J. T. Thomas of Ashland, who took ft mortgage on the property for sums advanced to Fehl, The records show that the sheriff's deed was filed April 30. Considerable difficulty was encoun tered, according to the district at torney's office, before the property could be formally turned over to Helmroth and Thomas. Fehl, about a year ago, placed the title to the property In escrow, with Instructions written on the outside of the sealed envelope,' not to be opened, except In the presence of Earl H. Fehl and Electa A. Fehl." This made the re lease of the title Impossible, as long as Fehl was detained In state prison However, Helmroth and Thomas In demnified the escrow holder, and se cured the necessary legal title. Helmroth and Thomas also assume approximately $1100 In back taxes on the property, In gaining possession. OFFERED USE OF ROAD OIL OUTFIT Rural resident living close to dusty country roads can procure relief from the same by paying for the oil and Jackson county will grant the use of road oiling equipment. The county court yesterday decided on this course In response to numerous requests. The county has no funds for bearing the entire costs. Dust la the bane of rural house wives In the summer and they have petitioned the county court for oiling, Dust Is now flying thick and high on many country roads. The cost of the oil Is estimated at five cents per lineal foot for double width application. For example, oil ing of 100 feet would cost $5. People desirous of securing oiling are re quested to send In checks for the oil needed on or before May 1, when the oil will be ordered. The full text of the county court action Is as follows: . "The court. In response to ft num ber of requests for relief from dust on the county -roads, has decided to co-operate with any citizens of the county living on such roads, In that the county will use county oiling equipment to apply the oil, where the Interested partiea agree to pay for the actual cost of the oil. "The cost of the oil Is estimated at five cents per lineal foot for double width application. In other words, the total cost would be $5 for oiling double width per 100 feet. "Any interested parties who wish to take advantage of this offer must send a check with their notice to the county clerk on or before May 1, 1034, at which time the oil will be ordered." T BATTLE RAGES IN AREA Blight conditions prevail In the orchards of the Rogue River valley, and Is heaviest In the Central Point district, according to County Horti culturist Lyle P. Wilcox. Forces of men, In all the Infected orchards, are cutting the blight, In an effort to control It. In the orchards south of this city, according to Horticulturist Wilcox, blight conditions are not as severe as la the north county area, in which It seems to center. However, the blight Is general, Fruit Inspector Howard Warner Is mipervlslng the war on blight. It Is reported as most severe In those or chards that neglected "clean-up" warnings the past two years.
