clrcut court Jury yesterday in the
civil suit of John C. Thorscn, Cen
tral Point district farmer, for ap
proximately 335 for lass of 1.2C0
bushels of barley by fire last August.
The $38 was a counter claim filed
by Bohnert.
Thorsen claimed that the fire that
devoured his barley stack was due toj
the friction of a threshing machine
belt, operated by Bohnert, against
the side of the stack. j
Bohnert contended that the fire
was caused by somebody carelessly
smoking a cigarette around th
threshing operations, and his counsel;
denied that the belt ljrnlted the grain.!
