Corporation, of Detroit, received or
ders for the largest number of re
frigertors It has ever experienced In
one day's business.
"On February 26 we received bona
(Ida orders from our distributors for
7,368 Norge refrigerators," stated How
ard t. Blood, president of tbe Norge
corporation. "This includes one or
der for 44 carloads for Trilling &
Montague, our Philadelphia distribu
tor, and another order of 40 carloads
for the Sampson Electrle Co., Norge
distributor In Chicago. As we enter
tas month of March, this leaves a
bsnk of unfilled orders totaling more
than 25,000 the largest bank of un
filled orders we ever have had at
this time of year. Shipments for
February were 18 per cent of ship
ments for February, 1833.
"There Is no doubt that 1934 will
be, by all odds, the banner year for
the electric refrigeration Industry
and for Norge corporation. Many In
dividual dealers are ordering In car
load lots, while distributors are or
dering In tralnloads.
"Earlier In the week we received
an order for 65 carloads from Moser
& Suor, Inc., our Kansas City dis
tributor. Our Detroit and Muskegon
plants are working to capacity to

While Camp Applegate, basketball
obamplons of the Medford CCC dis
trict, go to Roseburg to play Camp
Tyee, champions of the Eugene CCC
district, the team from Camp South
Fork of Rogue River will go to Yreka,
Cal Saturday to play Oak Knoll
camp of the Redding district.
The South Fork team, composed
of Illinois men, will play the Oak
Knoll five, all Calltornlans. South
Fork was runner-up for the district
championship, being defeated by
Applegate.
LOCAL YOUTHS SHIP
FOR ORIENT CRUISE
Beth BuUls, Jr., and Don Wold, local
youths, are on the sea. It was learned
by friends here today. Two weeks
ago they sailed from San Francisco
on the Golden Peak and are now In
southern waters near San Dtego, both
as employes on board.
Their Journey will take them to the
Orient before they return to Med
ford In the summer.
FOREST PICTURES
W. R. Fuller of the Oregon State
Forest department together with Al
bert Ernst, from the regional office
of the forest service are giving aome
fine motion pictures and lantern slide
views, at the CCO campa and other
local places.
Last evening the pictures were
shown at the city hall In Talent.
This evening pictures will be shown
at the Medford high school at 7:45.
The public Is invited. The picture,
"Leaves." shows some beautiful forest
views and connect the beauty with

est. The colored lantern slides show
some forest protection work being
done In Washington and Oregon by
tbe CCC boys and are both interest

STATE TAX RETURNS

SALELM, March 19. (Approxi
mately $225,000 had been received by
the state in receipts from personal in
come, intangible and corporation tax
es up to March 15, the atate tax com
mission announced yesterday. Fhe
final date for filing returns la April 1.
The commission estimated a total
return of $500,000 more this year
than last due to the recent amend
ment to the income tax law which In
creased the rate and lowered the ex
emptions. Receipts in 1933 amounted
to $1,400,000.
