The Elks will entertain Friday night at the temple with a dance for the pleasure of Elks and Invited guests. . Saturday night the American La gion will sponsor a St. Patrick's dance at the Oriental Gardens, and for the same evening the Colonial club has announced a dancing party. A numoer of people have made reservations for supper at the club to follow the dance. At the St. Mary's Academy a musi cal program will be presented Friday evening in observance of the holiday. Easter Monday Ball Interests Med ford Society , Annual Easter Monday ball wilt b held at the Oriental Gardens on April 3. under the ausplcea of Vie American Legion Auxiliary, . nouncement made the last of the week stated. Committees are to be appointed to carry out the details of the affair. Rotary Club Dance Event of Tuesday The Rotary dub entertained Tues day evening with a dinner dance hon oring the Lady Botarlana at the Co lonial club. Covers were arranged for 90 at the attractive table, where cor sages marked the places of the wom en ffiieiita. . . Following dinner, dancing was en joyed with music furnished by Sebas tian Apollo's orchestra. Study Club Hears Leaders Discussed The Wednesday Study club met at the Women's Club rooms, March 7th Thc ifternoon was devoted to the study of current changing times. Mrs. H. E. Snedlcor gave an Inter esting review of the new leaders In our national government. The fact that the new leaders are men of dy namic personality and great driving force waa brought out. Presldeut Roosevelt was given first place and bis genius for leadership was shown. Because of the tremendous amount of work done by the federal govern ment during the past year many men have been needed as helpers by the president. The work done by these men was briefly sketched. It was aliown that party politics bad little to do with the choice of men and that few cabinet members bad been leader during the past year. "Within the Present" by Margaret Ayers Barnes was reviewed by Mrs. L. B. Kumphrys. This 4s an outstand ing book and gives a picture of life i from 1914 to 1033. A sturdy faith In i the rightness of things is the strain running- through this story of a fam ily of bankers who see the brilliant post war period and also the dark period of financial collapse. .
