The IrrlRStton refinancing program,
accomplished, he stated, meana a
saving of about $100,000 a year to the
farmer of tie Rogue River valley
and a saving of l.6O0.OO0 to the Irri
gation districts.
Mr. rarrell told the club members
of efforts to get legislation through
and the difficulties involved, showing
the highlight and sidelight of the
present administration. He voiced
particular Interest In the bankruptcy
bill, which comes before the senate
today, stating that It constitutes a
definite tie-up with the Irrigation
refinancing program and hat Irriga
tion Interest are particularly anxious
for Its psssage.
Senator Chas. N. McNary was de
scribed by Mr. Parrell as an outetand
Ing figure In Washington, popular In
both political parties. He slated that
Senator Stelwer was also commanding
attention In the senate and that Con
gressman Mott, although new at he
game, was a hard worker, and doing
many good things for his district.
President Roosevelt 1 popular with
all classes In Washington and thruout
the east, a well a the west, Mr, Par
rell stated.

ended when the auto went off the
road st high speed. . The defense
contends thst young Dlnsmore took
the auto without permission, the
plslnttff thst hs was allowed to do
so by the auto aalesman.
Ths testimony of the plaintiff also
showed thst Tlnglesf had admonish
ed Dlnsmore to drive slower. The de
tense Introduced evidence to show
thst Tlnglesf had aeveral opportuni
ty to leave the auto, but did not
do so, and that his mother knew
he wss riding with Dlnsmore.

commissions left here yesterday for
Portland to attend the three-day con
ference, called there by Marshall
Dana, head of the Public Works pro
gram In Oregon. In the delegation
were Larry Schade. Fred iBcheffel,
Paul Rjrnnlng and Bernard Roberta.
The purpose of the conference. It la
understood, la to coordinate the city
and county commissions for use of
funds to be forthcoming from the
Public Works administration for
planning work. The latter. It Is fear
ed, -will not be asextenalve as orig
inally planned, dye to a decrease in
public works funds.

Two youths, aged . 10 and 13,
brothers, are being held by city po
lice for hearing In Juvenile court
following their arrest this morning
on charges of burglary. According to
Chief of Police Clatoua McCredie,
the two admitted they entered the
home of Wm. H. Catey, 822 West
Twelfth street last night, and took
a J22 rifle, two pipes, and some cig
arettes. The stolen property was recovered
this morning -by police. It Is ex
pected the boys will be taken Into
court tomorrow morning.
