NO KIN OP JOHN
The story was started a number of
years ago, -when George Putnam was
editor of the Mail Tribune, and it
was all in Jest. But when John Jo
seph McOraw, ex-chlef of the Giants
died Sunday, many Medford people
thought that Newton L. McGraw of
North Central, .had lost a brother.
When the "Little Napoleon" of
baseball was at the helghth of his
career George Putnam wrote a story
about him and added at the bottom
that he was a brother of the local
McGraw, then an operator for the
Postal Telegraph, The rumor met
with McGraw's approval and It was
not denied. Yesterday a number of
hlsfriends were still believers In the
story.
