A most interesting meeting of the McLeod home extension unit was held at the home of Mrs. Haines on the Crater Lake highway, February 22. Mrs. Mabel C. Mack, assisted by Mrs. Glas gow, gave a demonstration on color. Each lady made a color chart and waa given helps on color and combina tions she could wear. A comprehen sive talk on color harmony, etc., was given by Mrs. Mack. A handkerchief shower was given Mrs. Dick Vincent In honor of her birthday and a lovely birthday cake was presented to her by Mrs. Gus Dltsworth. A specal cake was also given Mrs. Mack by the hostess, Mrs Haines, in appreciation of her spen- did services to the community. About 25 ladles attended the meet ing. Next meeting, which will be on weights and measurements, la being looked forward to with much en thusiasm. It will be held at the home of Mrs. Tom Carlton, March 22 Mrs. W. D. REPORT SHOWS SALEM, Feb. 27.- (AP) Ths state police during January reported 867 arrests resulting In levying of fines for a total of 0,126, sentences of 70 years and collection of motor traffic fees of 913,068, Superintendent Chas. P. Pray announced today. In general law enforcement 356 ar rests were made, fines assessed for 1,044 and 66 years sentences. One arrest was for murder. The largest sentences were for larceny under $60, for which 64 arrests were made, resulting In 17 years sentences. The largest fines were for disorderly con duct for a total of $167 on 18 ar rests. Most arrests In the fish and game department was for Illegal possession of deer, 17 arrests recorded resulting In two years sentences and 1100 fine. Hunting lo closed season re sulted In nine arrests with fines of 4280. Driving while Intoxicated still led the list of the heaviest fines sssessed In the traffic enforcement, for 42, 07fi for the 25 arrests. Ninety-three arrest were made for driving with out licenses.
