With the departure of three or four refrigerated veasels from Portland this week-end and next week, traders had expected to consider the season closed. Steamship operators report approxi mately 200,000 boxes of pears and 140.000 boxes of apples In storage in the Portland. Medford and Hood River districts, but this Includes both ex port and domeatlo sixes. How much of this amount finally will go into export trade 'Will be determined by how eagerly foreign markets want the larger fruit, which la ordinarily ab sorbed by the domeatlo markets.
