DOLLAR 53 CENTS
SALEM. Ore. (UP) J The American
farmer In 1033 received 33 cents of
the consumer's dollar, the agricul
tural adjustment administration re
ported today. In 1932 he received 33
cents.
The administration pointed out that
in 1929, when farm prices were com
paratively good, the farmer received
47 cents out of each dollar spent for
food, with 53 cents going to process
ors aud distributors. Such price lev?ls
can be restored only through increas
ing farm prices faster than retail
price or reducing costs of processing
and distributing .
The agricultural adjustment ad
ministration expects that the fann
er's share will be increased somewhat
this year through various federal
agencies set up.
