high school auditorium, Med ford,
Saturday evening, February 34.
There will be three one-act playa
given by the Bellview, Eagle Point
and Jacksonville Oranges. Each of
V.iese playa won first place In their
respective district in jthe county
wide dramatics preliminaries. The
plays will be Judged Saturday even
, ing by Dr. Arthur Taylor of the
Southern Oregon Normal school, Rev.
Wm. J. Howeii of Msdford, and MIsa
Louise Howard of Grants Pass.
An Annual Affair
The contest la held annually un
der the supervision of Mabel C.
Mack, home . demonstration agent, as
a part of the extension project in
recreation and dramatics. The pur
pose of the contest la to encourage
more recreation and dramatics work
among adult groups, and to aid lu
better play selection and better pro
duction. A dramatics training school for
play directors was given In January
through the extension service with
Jack Stuart Knapp of the National
Recreation association as Instructor.
An approved llat of playa to be used
In the contest was prepared by the
home economics extension depart
ment of Oregon State college, thua
eliminating the necessity of scoring
plays on selection. Playa will be
Judged on direction and acting only.
Interest In Finals
The playa this year have been ex
ceptionally fine and much Interest
1s being shown In the final contest,

Bellview Has Comedy
The Bellview Grange play Is a very
effective comedy entitled "The Dear
Departed," concerning the division of
property of the dear departed one.
It la directed by Mrs. Cella Andrews
and the cast la as follows: Mrs. Sla
ter, Delia Inlow; Henry Slater (her
husband) Floyd Carter; Victoria
(the daughter), Ada Andrews; Mrs.
Jordan, Mrs, Wade Wallls; Mr. Ben
Jordan, Walter Longstreth; Abel Mer
ryweather, Edwin Dunn.
The Jacksonville Grange play la
entitled "Ambition" and la a tense
drama of love, honor and fame. H

entered In the state contest at Ore-
gon State college, March 3, at the
' Home Interests conference. Other
counties competing In the contest
are: Clackamas, Columbia, Lane and
Josephine.

The clinic will open at 9 o'clock
