Is the story of two murders on a train of that name, which races from Cal cutta to Bombay. More than a dozen people are suspected of the crimes, which are solved by Edmund Lowe, In the role of Inspector Dyke. The picture not only has the ad vantage of mystery, but is laid In that mysterious country "Mother India." home of 300.000,000 souls, redolent with mysticism, where any thing Is liable to happen. Laughton Amusing As Bluebeard King No one, probably, would care to pattern his table manners after Charles Laughlln's Interpretation of Henry VIII as he sat at the royal board. but that Is more reason why one should enjoy thl English pro duction. "The Private Life of Henry VIII for the picture portrays the English monarch of the sixteenth century in an historical as well as amusing manner. The film Is play- lng at Hunt's Craterlan theater to night and tomorrow. Six wives the king had during his reign, each well portrayed, but per haps the most outstanding is the blond duchess from Germany who Is such a card sharp the king gladly di vorce her. This part Is played by Laughton's real wife. Elsa Lanchester. If football had been a leading sport of that age, the crowd seated in the "bleachers" near the guillotine might easily be taken for a rooting section such is the excitement and chatter. The king's philosophy can't be Ignored altogether, for his remark after the death of his third wife, as he contemplated marrying the fourth was: "It is a victory for optimism over experience." Despite a few all too common re marks by the king, the movie Is well worth while, both from a standDoint of narrative and amusement. I.
