Complaint has been heard lately re
garding the transporting of high
school student from this district. It
appears that the taxpayers of this dis
trict are paying several hundred dol
lars Into the transporting fund while
out of the dozen student attending
high school only two are being trans
ported at public expense, the other
ten paying their own wsy. If this
transporting levy Is going to be a per-
fmsnent thing it Is ssld the parents,
students and school board should get
together snd make some arrange
ment before another year by which
at least a majority of high school stu
dents could receive benefit from It.

The county may claim the total
amount of pension paid, plus 3 per
cent interest, from any estate left on
death of a pensioned person. This
constitutes a preferred claim against
any property.
A pension will be revoked If the
recipient leaves the state. If he re
ceives property or additional Income
after granting the pension, the pay
ments may be reduced or cancelled
by the board. The board may sus
pend payments while Investigating?

fraudulently obtaining pensions are
$500 fine, one year In Jail, or both. '

The pension board must act on aU
applications within a reasonable time

appeal to the circuit, court within 80
days.
When a pensioner Is an Inmate of
a charitable, fraternal or benevolent
institution, the pension shall be paid
