Mrs. Anna Robins of Phoenix moved Into the house owned by Bob Smith on the South Highway Inst week, where she will keep house for Wlnni fred and Bob. Miss Elva Caster, who had the mis fortune to sprain her ankle a couple of weeks ago, was taken to Medford. where she will spend some time with relatives. Home Extension unit met at the church Friday, where many useful rocipes were given to the many house wives who attended. A most enjoyable time was spent by the ladles. Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Block of Talent were callers at the Henry Frsme home last week, where Mr. Block did some work on Mr. Frame's cream separator. Many of the pioneer descendants of Talent read with deep regret the passing of G. F. Billings of Ashland. In the eighties Mr. Billings was Sun day school superintendent at the old Baptist church in Talent. Your cor respondent was among those of his class. He was dearly beloved by the young people and a faithful worker for Christian welfare. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Block, who have been at the Germesty place west of Phoenix for the past year, have moved to Talent, where Mr. Block has been running i garage and repair shop since last October. Mrs. Suta Dean of Phoenix had the misfortune last Tuesday to sustain a badly sprained ankle. She Is get ting along nicely, but Is unable to walk yet. They also were looking for the best lay for the water pipes. Geo. Schermerhorn waa a brief visitor at hia niece, Mildred Young's home Wednesday. Haeei Hutchison was an overnight guest of her school chum, Elsie Helms, last week. Weston Miller was a pleasant caller at the Ervin Hutchison home last week. An evening of cards was en Joyed. Many prea ent responded with current events, story or Joke. As a special treat, the Huckabee Los angelea were present and gave an Angelese, were present and gave an excellent musical program, solos given by Mr. and Mrs. Hucksbee and six-year-old son. Bobby Dick . Harlow Huckabee gave several piano numbers as well as accompanying all the other numbers. Unusually harmonious was the trio given by three smaller chil dren, who accompanied themselves on guitars. Every number waa greatly appreciated. Harlow Huckabee h already organized a music claas at the school, with a number of children enrolled here as well as two classes a week In Rogue River. A short recess was declared to let all the people meet and welcome our new neighbors. Next Wednesday evening the sales tax will be ably discussed at the Grange Hall In open meeting by Mr. Brock way of Jacksonville. Poultry Raisers Get Information At Samson Clinic A good sired crowd of southern Oregon poultry raisers attended the free clinic at F. E. Samson's store Sat urday afternoon under the supervision of Claude Cover, representative of th Sperry Flour company. - Many of the poultry men brought specimens of chickens afflicted with various ailments which were diag nosed by Mr. Cover, who also dis cussed culling and csra of poultry. "Saturday's clinic was a success, Judging from the attendance and the number of questions the men asked regarding their particular prob lems," Mr. Samson stated.
