PAGE ETflHT AfEnFORD MATT TRIBUNE. JFEDFORD. OREGON", FRTDAT, JANUARY 19, 1934. ILL OPERATOR - - Medford will be on the nation'! . automotive map next month, If plana now being worked out by H. F. Langs of Armstrong Motora. Inc., material ise. Mr. Lange's publicity plan cen tera around the Introduction of the much discussed Chrysler "Airflow," which was accorded a sensational re ception at the San Francisco auto mobile show ten days ago. Here Is bow It all started. A. D. Lewis, one of the owners of the Lewis mill at Prospect, became Interested In advance announcements of the radically different new Chrys ler airflow and visited San Francisco so that he might soe tne advance show ing at the automobile show. It wss a clear case of "love at first sight" and H. F. Lango Immediately sold a Chrysler "Airflow" to Mr. Lewis for delivery next month at the Chrysler factory In Detroit. Mr. Lewis will leave for the east soon to accept delivery of one of the very first Chrysler "Airflows" "off the line," and H. F. Lange Is arrang ing for widespread publicity to be given this event In Detroit through out Oregon. It Is also planned for the proud owner of one of the Initial "Airflow" Chryslers to display his car at points' along the southorn route on his return trip to Oregon. Ban ners, giving publicity to Medford and Southern Oregon, will be consplcu- ' ously displayed on the smart new car,, which la attracting a remark able amount of attention wherever the few cars, prepared for show pur poses .have been shown. In commenting upon the new car, which he has purchased to drive ' back from the east, A. D. Lewis said: "Three outstandingly different fea tures appealed to. me In seeing tfw Chrysle 'Airflow' In San Francisco. It has a startling streamline body that more nearly approaches the Ideal aerodynamic form than any car I have yet seen. Through a' redistri bution of weight, the new Chrysler has made an amazing improvement In riding qualities and, through com pletely changed body arrangement, a wealth of room la provided. I am an ticipating with considerable pleasure my return from Detroit In the new 'Airflow' which I have purchased from Armstrong Motors, Inc." Four distinct lines of cars are of fered In the Chrysler's 1934 contri bution to the motoring world. These elude the Chrysler six, the Royal 8 Airflow, the Imperial 8 Airflow and the custom built Imperial 8 Airflow. Many mechanical Improvements and ' Innovations are featured In Vie new models In addition to the sensational "Airflow" bodies, according to H. F. Lange. Southern Oregon people will be In terested In further news of Mr. Lew is' trip. E PROVES COSILY FOR OF BERLIN. (UP) It doesn't pay to be Absent-minded In Berlin. In due course the beer arrived and was drunk. The time came for payment. "Let me see," computed the waiter "That will be five marks and 35 pfennings." "What?" managed the fellow. 'That alze usually costs 35 pfennigs." "Yea," said the waiter, "but our closing time la 1 a; m., and from then on we are a club. Now your membership Is two mark and three months dues, payable In advance, bring your basis cost to five. You notice, of course, that we don't raise the price on our drinks." A housewife once only once dis covered one Sunday she was without butter. The neighborhood grocer lived behind his store, however, and was routed out without much diffi culty. "Just a quarter of a pound of but ter, to last until tomorrow," arte an nounced. "That mnkes 100 marks and 43 pfennigs" observed the storekeeper. The women clutched feebly at tne counter. She guessed she really did not need any butler until tomorrow. "You ace," said the grocer, "our price la the same on Sundays as on week days, but if you want to buy on Sunday you have to pay . a 100 mark customer's fine." For Fuel OH Delivery, Phone 818.
