The quotation on fresh extras was generally placed 18c dozen here but some retailers were actually selling such supplies at lie or even a frac tion lees. Reports In the trade suggested that wholesalers were shading values one to two cents dozen, with sales of extras down to 18c, but this was generally denied by those reported as participating In the price cutting holiday. Trading In the butter market was good here and at recently advanced prices. Consumption continued to gain with the chief call for the stand ards and prime firsts offerings. But terfat was held firm. Further gain In strength was sug gested by another fractional boost in the price for cheese on the produce exchange here, which has been one of the chief bear factors In the market for an extended period. Considerable strength was showing In the market for country-killed .... anrf tn annta higher prices vera reported. Hogs were generally up to 8C for top Diocaera uno w,w heavy sorts up to 6c lb.
