Medicine Cases Stolen Dr. Chas. T. Sweeney announced to city police today the theft of two leather medi cine cases from his car last night. The car was parked on West Main street. Lutherans to Meet The Zlon Lu theran church will hold Its annual 11 congregational meeting Thursday evening at 7:45. This will be fol lowed by a social fellowship program and refreshments. There was also a trace of rain between that hour and 5 a. m. today. Building Permit The first build ing permit for 1934 was Issued by the city tloday and It was for a small sum. It went to W. E. Thomas of 225 West Main street for replacement of a floor at the cost of 12. Goold Goes North Harry Ooold has accepted a position with the Stuart Construction company near Roseburg, It was learned by friends here today. He Is in charge of gravel production at Bradford camp. Dojr Straying Mrs. Mary Wilson reported to city police this morning that her dog had been stolen or naa strayed from Its home. It Is small brown, and short-haired, and has a collar bearing a 1934 license. ... Bowlers to Meet Saturday evening the annual bowling contest will be staged by the postofflce and the park service teams. Leave for Army Mat Rae, son of Mrs. Golda Hugglns, Is leaving to night by train for San Francisco, from which city he will sail February 6 for Honolulu to spend three years in the motor artillery of the united 3tates army. Young will be sorry to learn that she has been seriously 111 this week at her home. Mr. Young, who has been visiting hls'sons In the south, will arrive here very soon and Mrs. Young's son, Dick J. Short, was v called from San Francisco the first of the week. He made the trip here In 10 hours and 35 minutes, traveling 430 miles In that time. Mr. Young's return was delayed by flood condi tions In the south. Home Destroyed Mrs. F. H. Conner, sister of Mrs. Grace Andrews of this city, was among those whose homes were mined In the flood conditions in La Crascenta and other southern California cities. Mrs. Conner, who v.111 be remembered by many Ashland people, was not living In the house at the time, but had It rented. The renters escaped, though four feet ol water and mud went through the house and nine near neighbors lost their lives. Mr. and Mrs. Conner are living temporarily at Pasadena.
