police, la scheduled to appear in Jus
tice court here Tuesday afternoon on
charges of operating a motor vehicle
without a tall-light, only one head
lights and no aide-lights,

Leave for Oakland Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Farmer of Medford left Satur
day morning for San Francisco and
Oakland, where they plan to remain
for two months. Mr. Farmer la chief
mechanic for the Greyhound Lines

Forfeit Ball Three persona arrested
Saturday night on charges of being
drunk in a public place, were Andy
Ooodell, 68; John Parr, Phoenix, and
Jack Napier, 20. Each forfeited 10
bail when he failed to appear In city
court today.

business to levels higher than at any
time since last August," was reported
today by Straasburger & Co.. after
checking six representative lines of
Industry whose combined Index rose
to 75,4 per cent of the 1930 average.
In the last week of 1933.
The Index on the preceding week
stood at 73 S. while a year earlier It
was 78. The Index Is adjusted for
seasonal changes.
Factora entering the week's rise of
1.8 points, a relatively large gain,
were: Better holding up against sea
sonal declines for railroad carload-
lnga and production of electric power
and lumber.

vertising business on the price of
farm produce In the Pacific north
west, was pointed to by President
Young In his annual report.
"Agriculture has a definite influ
ence on advertising linage," he de-,
clared.

With Broken Leg

substitute halfback on the Ohio State
football team, played for three weeks
of the 1933 football season with a
fractured leg, an X-ray examination
revealed.
Thomas injured his leg In the game
with Indiana on November 4, but
believed he had received only a bruise
and continued to play. The medical
examination ahowed a clean fracture.
