Thomas today by an order reducing ' aalavles of all official, rejection of payment of $100,000 by the three firms to the Electric Bond and Share company, and refusal to permit do nations amounting to about 910,000 against the rate payers. Thomas, in his order, declared the thr affiliated firms were the only onea to protest arid object to the com m 1m loner passing upon the bud- gets aa provided by an act of the . 103.1 legislature. The order particularly eliminated any salary for Ouy W. Talbot, retired president of the Portland Gas and Coke company. The budget contain' ed a salary of $7,800 for Talbot. Salary reductions from 1165,010 to 131,700, was headed by a cut of $14.- 160 In the salary of Paul B. McKee head of the companies. The budget showed a salary of 139.160 for Mo Kee. which Thomas ordered reduced to il 6,000 annually. Other salary reductions Included John A. Lai tiR from H5,420 to 10, 000; Hllmar Pabst from 12,lfl0 to $9,000; Lewis A. Mc Arthur from $11. 340 to $6,000: I. T. Merwin from $10,800 to $8,000; E. L. Hall from $8, 886 to $7,000, and C. W. Piatt from $8,100 to $7,000.
