Returns from Tour Ernest Michael Relling, a resident of Medford for the past six years, recently returned home from an extensive tour of the east. Taken Into Court On chargea of operating a vehicle at night without lights. Elma Hood entered a guilty plea in justice court this week, and was fined S5 and costs of M.50 by Judge W. R. Coleman. She was In formed that she must obtain a proper driver's license and car license before further action concerning the fine could be taken. Plan Finals Basketball finals for the COC district championship will be held In Medford on January 10 and 11. according to present plans. Cap tain Harold E. Stow announced to day. Participating In the champion ship games will be South Fork of Rogue River camp, Camp Cape Se bastian and Camp Applegate. The two former camps are both Illinois companlea, while the Applegate camp Is composed of Oregon enrollees. Home from Hospital The many friends of Mrs. Harry O. Wilson of 717 Oak street are pleased to learn sne has returned to her home here from the Ashland hospital, where she hes been for the past three weeks. She underwent an operation there, as the result of an Infected tooth. Mrs. Wil son has been a nurse In Medford since 1909. Brother Writes Story The last issue- of the Literary Digest made a big hit with one resident of Medford at least Mrs. Hamilton Patton of Reservoir Hill. For the leading ar ticle In the Digest, entitled "Legis lative Prophet of the New Deal," was written by Albert L. Warner, Waih lngton, D. C, correspondent of the New York Herald-Trtbune, who is Mrs. Patton'a brother. An Inset cut of Mr. Warner also headed the article. Two Injured Mrs. Earl Pemberton of Lakevlew and Mary E. Ewlng of Eagle Point suffered bruises lat evening In an automobile collision. when the car In which they were rid ing struck a hayrack belonging to W. B. Strand of Eagle Point. Earl Pem berton was driving the car. The wreck occurred about two and a half miles north of Eagle Point on the Crater Lake highway, about 7:30 p. m- E"l Zimmerman of Rogue River and Mr. Haines of McCloud were named as witnesses on the accident report which was filed today with the city police. Get Bounty Warrants The largest bounty warrant Issued yesterday by the county clerk's office went to C. F Orlgaby of Medford, who received 27 for five coyotes and four bobcats. Others Issued yesterday were to Bill Regan of Lake Creek, one bobcat: Ivan Farmer, Ashland, three coyotes: C. W. Walker, Go'.d Hill, one coyote; M. L. Hughes. Butte Falls, one bob cat; James L. O'Donahue of Butte Falls, one bobcat; A. J. Edler, Sams Valley, three coyotes: Edgar Garwood. Hilt, three coyotes: Treavell Turpln. Phoenix, one coyote; F. M. "Aggie Appleby" Is from a world of eternal struggle, where bad men and bad whiskey are all part of the game. Into her life comes Adontram Sen lump, who descends on the great city In a fawn-like demeanor and Is taken In hand by Aggie of the East Side to be taught how to battle and forget family tradition. The pro cess of his remaking brings forth some new type . of comedy, and Charles Farrell (.Mows himself a real comedian, fully able to hold his own with such favorites as Zasu Pitts and William Gargan. Saturday night at 9 o'clock, the Craterian will have the long awaited KMED-Medford Merchants' Christmas party. Everyone Is promised a gift of some sort and Santa Clans will preside over the ceremonies to be held on the stage, arriving there In a rather unique fashion. A lot of fun is said to be In store for everybody. Sally Eilers in Rialto Picture tod The team of Sally Eilers and Nor man Foster, which proved such a popular one In "State Fair." has been reunited in "Walls of Gold," the motion picture version of the Kathleen Norrls story, and playing 81 III! today and tomorrow at the Rialto theater. "Murders In the Zoo," a weird "thrill picture," with Charlie Rug gles, Lionel Atwlll and Kathleen Burke, Is also being shown on the same program. Craterian To Show Parade of Big Hits The Craterian theatre announced today their "parade of big hits" for the new season and starting Sunday with the local showing of Joe E. Brown's latest, "Son of a Sailor," and on the same program Lilian Harvey In "My Lips Betray. Rob inson In "Dark Hazard" will be shown. Then on January 7th, Will Rogers returns to Medford in "Mr. Skltch" In which he and Zasu Pitta are co-starred for the first time. The local showing Sunday of the Joe E. Brown farce will be the Pac ific Coast premiere of the picture. It la a story of the adventure of a sailor whose Imagination outruns his discretion. The many scrapes he gets Into because of this, which he gets out of through extraordinary good luck, make for uproarious laughter. "My Lips Betray" gives Lilian Har vey a splendid opportunity for the perfect display of her versatility as an actress of note, and for her sing ing and dancing, which proved so popular In her last screen appear ance In "My Weakness," shown here a few weeks ago. Clatous McCredle, en airman of the American Legion dance committee, announced today that the Legion will sponsor a Christmas dance at Ori ental Oardens Monday night. A special orchestra has been en gaged and the Legionnaires are mak ing plans for a gala celebration on Christmas night, according to Mr. McCredle.
