Harper, who has been stationed at the Civilian Conservation Corps camp at Carberry creek, is leaving this evening for Fort Lewis, where he was on duty before coming to the Med ford district. Going North lieutenant John B. Heybum of the Pistol River CCC camp is leaving for Fort Lewis, com pleting duty in the Medford district, During July he was with the head quartera detachment, stationed at the fairgrounds. Smiths Take Apartment Mr. and Mrs. Charley Smith have returned to the city from Yreka, where they spent several days attending to business matters and have taken an apartment on West Tenth street. Excess Recorded An excess of .38 of an inch of rainfall wa recorded by the weather bureau this morning, with .45 of an Inch of rain falling between 5 p. m. Thursday and 5 a. m. today. A trace was all the precipita tion listed between 5 a. m.' and 5 p. m. The Pickens Sisters and the Beverly Hill Billies both have important sequences in the musical parts of the story. "Sitting Pretty," a merry -go -round of laughs, music, girle and galet7, presents Miss Rogers as Dorothy, who owns a sandwich stand but who goes broke and comes to Hollywood. She becomes a screen chorus girl and re news acquaintance with her friends, Oakie and Haley, a pair of goofy song--writers. They become "big shots,' meet Thelma Todd, Hollywood's dazzling blonde, and. their trouble begin. Dodging bouncing checks and blase blondes become a habit with them, while with snappy tunes and catchy songs they learn that old friends are the best friends. On the same double bill, the Holly is featuring "The Return of Casey Jones." Dinty's Orchestra Now at Dreamland George "Dlnty" Moore announces that his Little Giant of Rhythm or cheatra will play at Dreamland on Saturday nights hereafter. The Fair grounds pavilion will be closed until spring. Dlnty says the convenient lo cation of Dreamland, especially dur ing bad weather, Is the reason for moving his dance band. Clara Bow Coming Sunday In Circus Hit At Craterian Clara Bow, the fiery red-head of the movies, makes her latest screen appearance in "Hoopla." 'opening at the Craterian theater Sunday. In this story of carnival life that dramatizes the hatreds, the desires, the romance and the loves of the "big top," Clara Bow is said to reach the highest point of achievement in her colorful career. She plays the part of a carnival dancer, and the environment of the open-air circus- form a kaleidoscopic background for her constantly chanc ing emotions and the fire of her per-1 sonallty. The story la built around this young dancer, who makes a wager that she, can win the love of a certain young' man. The young man happens to be the son of the carnival barker and he falls an easy prey to the wiles of the dassllns; dancer. And that brings about some Interesting developments. The cast in support of Mlsa Bow la headed by Preston Foster, Rich aid Cromwell, Herbert Mundin, Minna Oombell and James Gleason. The I story was adapted from the well- j Icnown play, "The Barker." Craterian Offers Preview Saturday The regular Saturday night preview at the Craterian theater tomorrow night haa "Blind Adventure" a sthe extra feature to be shown after the 0 o'clock show. "Blind Adventure" combines the melodrama and hokum of a multi chapter aerial into an hour's rousing entertainment filled with some great comedy. The whole thing rolls along In such a style that no one can Im agine Just what is going to happen next. Bruce, a lonesome American, gets lost in the dense fog in London nd discovers a corpse. He risne tor the bobbles and returns with them only to find the corpse has disappeared. Fun gets fast and furious as he bumps Into a burglar while trying to get out of a haunted house and from then on the entire picture la one fast se quence after another. Robert Armstrong, Helen Mack, Ralph Bellamy, Roland Young and John Miljan have the featured roles. "Man's Castle" is the regular fea ture on the Craterian program.
