They said there was an understand ing at the time of the original Lon don conference that the United States would proceed with export sales un der Its quota, set at 47,000,000 bushels. They added that to date the export association has markeed, chiefly In the Far East, about 8,000,000 bushels of wheat as the lust part of an In tended sale of 35,000.000 bushels. Under the plan of the Paclfis North west Export association It buys wheat from growers In Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho, paying them on. the basis of wheat prices at interior markets, and sells the wheat at a lower price on the world market, mak ing up the difference from, funds gained from the processing tax on wheat. This activity Is one phase of the wheat acreage reduction program, since farmers who benefit from the export association's work agreed to reduce their acreage In 1834.
