AT
FOR SEVEN YEARS
IE!
During 1934 the great American
government the government of the
United SUtes of America will lay
the foundation for the greatest war
ever conducted under the American
flag, according to a brochure entitled
"1934 and War," Issued by the grand
lodge of the Rosier uc lan Order.
AMORC, with national headquarters
at San Jose, Cal., and received offic
ially by Dr. C. R. Sim kins of 542
South Ivy street, Medford, local com
mt&sloner of the society. The bro
chure further states that the great
war will last probably seven years. It
will be a war principally between the
citizens of the United States. It will
be' the world's most unique war, It Is
declared, because It wilt be war of
construction Instead of destruction
It Is to be war against the greatest
enemies corruption, crime, syndical
ism and civic sluggishness. It will
not be fought with machine guns or
poison gas, but with the weapons of
new Ideals, tolerance, development of
culture and freedom of individual ex
pression.
The brochure prophesies the even
tual .results of this unique combat.
It states, according to Dr. Sim kin,
that President Franklin D. Roosevelt
will be the last President of the Unit
ed States to .function and supervise
affairs of this nation In the same
manner or under the same constitu
tional rules. The new form of gov
ernment will be an Intelligent dicta
torship. It predicts tue formation of
an anti-crime movement which will
have chapters In every community.
and whose duty will be to instruct
the younger people in the fundamen
tals of ffood citizenship. It asserts
that the liquor industry will face a
serious problem because of decreased
desire for liquor not anticipated by
the manufacturers. It declares the
department of Justice activities will
be broadened to Investigate the neg
ligence of state officials In the en
forcement of law.
The brochure concludes with the
statement that the real power of the
country Is the future will be placed
in the hands of those who have shown
and demonstrated the ability to gov
ern and control their own personal
affairs and make a success of their
Uvea. It will place those who are in
different about their own progress
and high standing In the social stand
ards of the nation beyond any power
to Influence or direct the affairs of
the nation.
