ington Parent-Teacher association will
hold a Christmas tree Friday after
noon at 1:30 o'clock. The event has
been arranged as a benefit for the
lunch room and each person attend
ing is asked to bring a donation for
the lunch room. A covered dish
luncheon will be served and membsrs
are asked to bring sandwiches and a

WILL CLOSE FRIDAY
Membership drive of the local
Eagles' lodge which has been carried
on for the past aeveral weeks will
come to a close Friday night, after
which time the Initiation fee will
automatically revert to $25 as pre
scribed by the by-laws of the order.
The drive has been one of the out
standing campaigns ever conducted
In the northwest, having enrolled
some 350 new members, making the
local aerie one of the strongest or
ganizations In the state.

of "Cradle Song," a moving story of
frustrated mother love behind con
vent walls.
Miss Wieck Is the newest Conti
nental star to come to Hollywood
to take her place beslcfe such per
formers as Marlene Dietrich and
Greta Oarbo.
She was signed by Paramount to
fill the role of Joanna In "Cradle
Song," a part familiar In spirt to the
one she played In her Continental
film. As In "Maedchen In Uniform,"
she lavishes her love and affection
upon a young girl.
In the story, Joanna enters a con
vent at the age of 18. Her natural
deslde for motherhood Is gratified
when a baby Is left at the convent
door, and she Is permitted to raise
It. The child, Teresa, grows to maid
enhood in the convent under the
care of 30. "mothers." At 18 Teresa
falls In love and determines to leave
the convent. The struggle on her
part between her love for Joanna
and her sweetheart, pi us the strug
gle of Joanna and the sisters, who
do not know whether to attempt 'to
hold Teresa or let her go, furnish
the climax for this unusual story.

NEW STUDIO POLICY
A dive In the picturesque and
glamorous Barbary Coast of San Fran
cisco during the earthquake, Is the
setting for Ruth Chatterton'a starring
vehicle, "Frisco Jenny," which opened
the new double feature policy at the
Studio theater today. The district
was the stamping ground of the play
boys of the city, of visitors bent on
wild orgies, of sailors on shore leave
and the riff-raff of the docks.

at the Craterian theater today.
"Man's castle" is. Director Prank
Borzage's greatest romance since his
memorable "7th Heaven" first flash

like the former picture, this latest
romantic drama Is built around the
love of a young fellow and a girl, both
searching for the always unreachable
dollghts of complete happiness with
one another. Tracy plays the role of
"B1U," gruff, kind, and altogether
charming. Loretta' Young Is "Trlna,"
a helpless young girl he meets and
takes under hla wing tp protect. Their
eventual love forma the basis of the
story.
