The Christmas shipments will begin to take shape within the next ten nays weeks. County Agent Robert O. Fowler said today that he figured the turkey growers of the valley would get around "16c or 16o per pound for their San Francisco shipments,1 and that this would be better "than they expected and better than the price last year." Full returns are not ex pected much before Monday. Valley growers shipped 12 refriger ated express care, totaling about 200, ooo pounds, to the California market lost week and this. They received a down payment of 60 per cent, the balance to be received after sale, and cost and commission deductions. The Frisco price was around 20 21c. Agent Fowler said that "unlike last year, the price did not drop the day before Thanksgiving, but held steady." He said this was beneficial to the grower.
