George B. Young. The Dorv family la from Berkeley, and formerly resided In Greenville, Iowa. Fisher, Ralph Boussum, Oeorge Boussum and Lynn Nee ley of Ashland and Art Rogers of Butte Fall. t Snow Is Melting Crater Lake na tional park officials reported Satur day that about a foot of snow re mains at the rim of the lake, and stated that the scenery is particular ly inviting at this time. The snow has practically melted from the highway, they stated. Catches Bear State Police Officer Joe Folsom brought a young bear In Medford from Sexton mountain, where he caught the animal. The lit tle black cub. about seven or eight montha old, was brought down from a tree, and placed in the car after a rope had been fastened about Its neck. t Visitors In Ashland Air. and Mrs. Chas. Strange and Mrs. A. E. Orr of Medford visited Thursday with Mrs, Geo. Owen. Mr. and Mrs. Strange are leaving to make their home in Seat' tie. Before going to Seattle they will visit In San Francisco and Los An geles, the Ashland Dally Tidings states. To Supervise Camp John Hoist, chief lumberman for the Rogue River national forest service, will be sup erintendent of the CCC camp at Ow en-Oregon camp No. 3 in the Butte Falls district, it was announced yes terday. The camp will be occupied by the company that spent the summer at Lake o the Woods. Doe In Town The deer are coming to town to try to run down some hunters, according to Irl Groves who was one of the few to return with two bucks this season. Mr. Groves says a doe ran across South Holly street one day last week and he saved himself by staying in the cab of an Eads Transfer truck. Army ship Here Captain Ecker, flying a Ford trl-motor passenger ship, and accompanied by nine passengers, all army men, stopped over night in Medford Friday, leaving the local port about noon Saturday. They were en routi from March Field, Calif., to the Boeing factory in Seattle. Captain Ecker plana to study the new pur suit plane being put out there. South Side Circle to Sew The South Side circle of the Baptist church will meet Tuesday, November 7, for an all day session, to sew at the home of Mrs. George B. Young In the Orchard Home district. Cover ed dish luncheon will be served and each member Is asked to bring a cov ered dish and sandwiches. Anyone wishing transportation is asked to meet at the church at 9 a. m. Elect Officers A hospital staff was organized Thursday night at the Ash land Community hospital, the doc tors of Ashland becoming members. The purpose was to aid the new su perintendent, Miss Ardath Loaher, In her work as manager. The officers elected were Dr. D. M. Brower, presi dent, Dr. Mattte B. Shaw, vice presi pent, and Dr. Harvey A. Woods, sec retary. Ashland Daily Tidings. D. Hall. After the meeting, Rev W. J. Howell gave an Interesting ad dress in the Interests of the Com munity Chest drive, and additional workers were secured to assist In this work. . Mr. Hall gave an address outlin ing the Ideals of the F. O. E., and offered suggestions for relief work that could be carried on In Medford during the coming winter. It was decided to continue the drive a short time longer with the Intention of securing at least 600 members for Medford. Mr. Thomas L. Lockhart of Oranta pass announced that he had sent for the charter and It was the In tention to Install the lodge there on November 15, and extended a cord ial Invitation for all Medford mem bers to attend.
