A number of Inquiries have come to the exchange regarding women willing to work by the hour at house cleaning, caring for children or other home tasks. Anyone wishing to ob tain such work Is asked to call at the exchange Wednesday or Saturday or to telephone 187 to get In touch with the committee members. The cheery atmosphere, which pre vailed throughout the working sea son last year, was evidenced again today In the exchange. All women expressed the desire to work for what they receive and were obviously pleas ed that such an opportunity Is again extended them. Clothing, ranging from warm un dertvhlngs to hats and coats, Is to be found on the shelves again this year and the demand Is constantly Increasing as the days grow colder. Anyone with garments to give Is asked to notify the exchange. Twenty-five persons were killed In accidents during July. 24 in August. Fatalities In other months were: February, 12; March, 17; April, 15; May, 10; June, 14; September, 18. A national survey showed that traffic deaths In many other states also Increased during the first nine months of the year. In the United States 14,281 persons were killed, compared to 14.848 last year, a de crease of 3.04 per cent. It was esti mated nearly 670,000 more persons were Injured' In 623,000 accidents during that period. Idaho, with a 100 per cent In crease In deaths, had the worst rec ord of any American state. There were 68 persons killed, compared to 34 a year ago. Maine deaths In creased 60 per cent, South Dakota 46.10, Nebraska 38.00. Ore a test de crease was In District of Columbia, 36.07 per cent.
