Little Clara Lee Ogle, daugh ter of Dr. and Mra. C. L. Ogle of Oranta Peas, waa the flower girl. Charlea Kay Bishop, brother of the groom, acted as best man, while ushers were Carl Oabrlelson and Har old dinger. Mra. Bishop graduated ' from the University two yeara ago. where ahe waa affiliated with the Kappaa Alpha Theta aororlty. Mr. Bishop la also a graduate of the University, and at tended the Harvard school of business administration. Banwell, manager of the Medford Chamber of Com merce, upon his return from Redding, Cal. Jackson county hid the largest representation at the meeting, with 15 attending from Med lord and nine from Ashland. The next convention of the asso ciation will be held in Medford, this elty finally winning out over Klam ath Palls In exciting competition, waged by the two cities to gain the 1034 meeting. Medford also won endorsement ot the Williams Creek road construc tion, presented by Paul Rynnlng. county engineer; the Little Butt creek road, presented by Hamilton Patton: the Siskiyou project and the program to preserve the forest line of the Crater Lake highway. Jackson county is represented by W. A. Gates as director on the Shasta -Cascade ' Wonderland board and one of the most Interesting con tributions to the convention program was the description given Mr. Gates' speech on helroglyphlcs of the lava bed. Other Medford representatives win ning prominent places in the per sonnel of the association were: C. L. MacDonald, council chairman; C. Olenn Smith, chairman of the recrea tion group 'and Mr. Banwell, chair man of the resolution committee. It was decided at the meeting to devote a day of the Oregon Diamond anniversary celebration here to the Shasta-Cascade Wonderland associa tion, E. C. "Jerry" Jerome, celebra tion chairman, announced. The motion picture, featuring the Shasta-Cascade Wonderland section, recently filmed by Hollywood direct ors, was presented In a preview at the convention and was described to day by Mr. Banwell as the most beau tiful scenery film he has ever viewed. It will be ready for release within 10 days and will be shown In Medford. APPLE IMPORTS PARIS, Oct. 6. (UP) A reduction of 60 percent In the apples Import quota from the United States In the last quarter of this year as compared with the same period a year ago was announced today. The ministry of commerce notified the United States embassy that the quota allotted United States apples and pears for the last quarter of 1033 waa 37,896 metric quintal or about two-fifths of the quota a year ago. (UP) A bonanza gold strike was reported today at a alte within 1500 feet of the original Comstock atrlke of pioneer days. Today's discovery, made at the famous Ophlr mine at Virginia City, waa a streak of ore two feet wide and assaying M0O0 a ton. The bonanza streak waa In a quartz face 12 feet wide. Similar rich atreaks have previ ously been found in the comstock Lode. Miners believe they are scattered through the vast ore body. Boy On Bicycle Killed By Truck ALBANY, Ore., Oct. 6. (AP) Wll lard Lake, 16. was killed on the Pa cific highway at Jefferson today when he waa struck by an oil truck aa he was riding a bicycle.
