PAfiE THREE Action Against Howard Fea rey and Insurance Com pany Slated for First Hearing by Judge Norton Circuit court for Jackson county. Judge H. D. Norton, presiding, will convene next Monday, September 35, at 0:30 o'clock, and It will be the first term of court here, since last February that will not be clogged with actions arising from the Banks- I Fehl agitation. The Jury list, with 19 names there on, the last of the Jury list drawn last January by the county court. has been called. ' The remainder of the list were excused by Judge George P. Skipworth for the balance of the term. Most of the veniremen were either examined or served as Juror In the trial of J. Arthur LaDleu. The list la as follows: Mary B. Klelnhammer, Jacksonville; John Rowden. Applegate; George H. Eads. Med ford; Minnie B. Bellinger, Med ford; Henry G. Enders, Jr., Ashland; Horace Greene, Medford; Alice Wad- dell. Central Point; J. Prank Wort man, Phoenix; W. Raymond Crawford, Medford; J. G. Perrell, R. P. D. 4; Walter Hash, Ashland; Mary Hanley. Lake creek; Walter R. Allen, Eagle Point; Wayne L. Holdridge, Talent; Prank W. Houston, Talent, and George L. Putman, Eagle Point. Civil actions will be called first. The case of E. P. Hawkins against Howard D. Pearey and the Indemnity Insurance company, for the collection of $600, will be called first. Brown, sec retary of the "Good Government Con gress' Indicted for "slandering a bank": Fred Wolf, Blrdseye Creek rancher. Indicted for manslaughter. and Ted Kalnes, charged with a statu tory offense. Stock, long time resi dent of Ashland and well known throughout southern Oregon where he has practiced undertaking work for nearly 40 years, passed away at his home on Granite street at 1:30 p. m. Thursday, following a gradual decline in health due to heart trouble. He leaves his wife, Marie Stock and two step-daughters, Mrs. Victor Mllburn and Gertrude Biede all of Ashland. Also one son. Laurel Stock by a former marriage. Mr. Stock was born In Germany, Aug. 12. 1861 and at the age of six years, came with his parents to America and settled in Illinois. After a brief residence there, the family moved to Brltt, Iowa where ha grew to manhood and In 1883 he came west to San Francisco where he en gaged In the building trade. For abouW two years he followed building and contracting in Califor nia and Oregon before taking up his resiaence on wsgner creek near Tal ent in 1885. He continued to follow the con tracting work and cabinet making until 1897, when he engaged in un- aertating in Ashland. Prior to this, and because of his skilled workman ship, he was frequently called upon by neighbors to make the old style polish wood coffins. Fraternally. He was Also a member of Hlllah temple,1 Shrine. j By his request, the regular mid night service of the Rose Croix, Scot tish rite, will bo held at the Conger chapel In Medford Saturday night at 12:00 o'clock, to which all friends are invited. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 Sunday at the Stock chapel in Ashland, with the Rev. Sidney Hall officiating. The body will He In state at the Stock chapel Sunday until the time of the service, during which time friends may call to pay final respects, after which the remains will be taken to Portland for cremation.
