(AP) Hollywood' hope for a Coast league pennant this season took a down ward slide today with the announce ment that the club would lose the services probably (or the remainder of the season of Ray Jacobs, first baseman, and Allan Strange, snort stop. Jacobs, so an X-ray examination re vealed today, splintered bis thumb in Sunday's game with Oakland. The Hollywood first sacker led the league In home runs, having collected 3a this season. Miss Caldwell and Mrs. Cragln will be In the valley for two or three weeks, during which time they will accompany the Jeromes to Crater Lake, the Oregon Caves, and other points of scenic interest in southern Oregon.
