(AP) Farm administrators today called a conference for next Monday at Port land, Oregon, to discuss plans for a new export movement of wheat to the Orient. Jellied Veal Loaf Creamed Potaoes Bread Butter Lettuce and Celery Salad Watermelon Coffee Mammy Watermelon Pickles, 3 pounds watermelon rind 3 tablespoons salt 2 quarts water. Cut off outer grtn rind and Inner pink part of watermelon; cut Into by 2-lnch strips, add salt and water and let stand 12 hours. Rinse welt In cold water, soak 3 hours In cold water to cover; drain well, cover by 2 Inches with water and boll gently until very tender when tested with fork; add spice mixture. Spice Mixture. 2 cups sugar 1 cup clnegar ',4 cup water 16 whole cloves 1-3 cup bark cinnamon, broken. Loosely tie spices In white cloth bag, add to rest of Ingredients and boll 2 minutes. Add prepared melon rind, cook slowly and atlr frequently until syrup Is very thick and rind well glazed. Remove spice bag and pour melon and ayrup Into a Jar and seal. If desired, this mixture can be poured Into an earthenware Jar and when cool, covered with a plate and stored In a cool place. Bread and Butter Pickles. 12 cucumbers 6 onions - cup salt 2 cups water l'A cups sugar 3 cups vinegar 1 tablespoon celery seed 1 teaspoon ginger 2 teaspoons white mustard seed 6 sticks cinnamon 12 whole cloves. Select cucumbers 4 Inches long and 54 lnchee thick; wipe off with damp cloth and cut Into thin crossway slices; select onions Inches In diameter and peel and cut Into thin slices. Mix the cucumbera, onions and salt; let stand 3 houra. drain and rinse In cold water. Loosely tie spices In white muslin bag, add to the augar ana vinegar: boll 2 minutes, add on ions and cucumbers and boll gently 30 minutes. Pour Into sterilized Jars and seal. A SUMMER DINNER (Serving Pour.) Tomatoes and Cheese Buttered Spinach Bread Peach Butter Sliced Cucumbera Mayonnaise , Pineapple Filled Cake Iced Coffee Tomatoes and Cheese for Four. 2 cupa tomatoea !4 cup diced cheese V, cup crumbs 2 tablespoons chopped onions 2 tablespoons chopped parsley 4 teaspoon salt V teaspoon paprika 3 tablespoons butter, melted 2 hard cooked eggs, sliced Mix ingredients and pour Into but. tered baking dish. Bake 20 minutes In moderate oven. Serve In dish In which baked. Pineapple Filled Cake. H cup fat 1 cup augar 2-3 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla - 2 eggs 2 cupa flour 3 teaspoons baking powder ?4 teaspoon salt Cream the fat and sugar; add rest of ingredients and beat 2 mlnutea. Bake 20 minutes In 2-layer cake cans in moaerate oven. Pineapple Filling cup sugar 3 tablespoons flour 1 egg yolk !4 cup pineapple Juice 2 tablespoons lemon Juice 1-3 cup water !4 cup crushed pineapple 1 tablespoon butter Blend augar and flour: add yolk. fruit Juices and water.
