raphers of southern Oregon met at
the Darling studio last night to dis
cuss the proposed code. The code, as
proposed by the International associa
tion, was unanimously approved by
the conference, and all were enthusi
astic over the steps taken to elim
inate unfair practices. Members of
the union from Grants Pass, Med
ford. Klamath Falls, Yreka. Weed and
Ashland attended the meeting. Ash

Receives Clipping Mrs. Wm. Bates
is in receipt of a clipping from her
cousin, printed in the New York Herald-Argus,
in which he describes a
very pleasant visit to Oregon and
California. One of the interesting
features of the article was the quick
time made by airplane from Chicago
to Medford. He left Chicago at 10:30
p. m. and landed at the Medford air
port at 3 p. m. the next day, being
only 16 Va hours on the trip.

across the Southern Pacific tracks,
looms. A section crew Is now In
stalling the crossing. Public Util

proved the crossing, and both the city
and the railroad have acquiesced.
The street has been paved for sev
eral months, to the railroad.
The new brewery la on the west
side of the crossing and a tombstone
factor)' on the east side. H. O. Froh
bach suggest that a civic celebra
tion untier in the new crossing. He
proposes that the first keg of beer
be used to christen the crossing, that
the people get together with the
maximum merriment and the mini
mum of oratory.
