Hoa and family has returned home to Salem. Mr. and Mm. Carpenter of Phoentx were week-end gueits at McLead camp ground and made some fine catch-5 of steelliead. jack salmon and Chin ook a. Or. Haines of Ashland spent Sun day at hla ranch, the former M&ns f.eld plaoe. The river la now at the best stage for fishing. Some fine catches were made just above McLeod bridge Sun day. One party of four landed twenty fish, steel head, trout and Jack salmon. The continued high water all spring brought more big fish In the upper nrer than has been known for some years; and presented the early placing of the racks at Elk creek station. The mouth of Big Butte is a favorite spot every evening for guesta from Rogue's koosc, anq local resorts. A Joint picnic by the Prospect and Laurelhurst Sunday schools was held at MoLeod camp ground Saturday. Outdoor Barnes were conducted by Bill Hesa in the forenoon. A belated children's day program was presented oy the Laurelhurst children. 1 Rev. Heyman of Grants Pass gave an Interesting talk on the history of tne sunaay school as a Christian or-! Sanitation. Wesierberg were business visitors In Medford Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. A. Mllhoan. who were called .to Oalt. Calif., last week by the serious Illness of Mr. Mllhoan'e father. C. W. Mllhoan. who died Sat urday. The body was shipped to Ashland and the funeral held Mon day. Mr. Mllhoan left his widow and six sons and one daughter to mouru his loes. Prank Stratton accompanied Mer rick Thornton to eastern Oregon, where they spent several days visit lng friends. Mrs. Mary Courtney and two small daughters of Vancouver, B. O., slater of Mrs. Don Lowe, who visited her sister last week has returned home, Mrs. Eugenia Jackson, who has been seriously 111 for ten days, has been moved to the Ashland hospital. Her condition Is slightly Improved the last two days. Charles Koyl, son-in-law of Mrs, Jackson was at the Jackson horns last week from Pasadena. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Gardner place and lived at the ranch, Is receiving the sym pathy of the community upon the loss of his young wife who leaves, beside her husband a IS months old son. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Stratton and daughters of Hornbrook visited at the W. A. Stratton home Sunday. Word has been received that Mlsn Alice Judlsh and party of Los Ange les, who visited Mrs. C. W. Glasgow Thursday and Friday were In ft seri ous accident near Yreka on their re turn trip. Their car overturned, im mediately catching fire and was de stroyed as was all their clothing. The ladles were barely able to get out or ths car. one being quite badly burned and all suffering from cuts, bruises and shock. Mr. and Mrs. Oemenson of the Jackson hotel, Medford and Dr. and Mrs, R. C. Mulholland were week end guests at Diamond lake. Flihlng has continued good the past week with a great many "limit" catchea of trout.
