SILVER SCREEN REVIEW By Mary G Miner Kflly. away on atretchera mada Irom fabric torn from th Seafarer. He couldn't aeel He couldn't aeel" cried Mra. MollLson. who U equally as famous with her husband In British flying annals. Adverse Flying conditions, MolllBon and bis wife, taking 400 gallons of gasoline and a lipstick as baggage, hopped 'from Walec at m.. Pacific standard time, Saturday. They fought contrary winds across the Atlantic then encountered fog patches and head winds from Newfoundland down the coast. It was 6 p. m. last night when the black plane soared over Bridgeport lrport. Fred Moller, airport mana ger, went aloft and tried to guide the Moll Lions to the runway. The trans- Atlantic plane circled the field five times, with Moillson signalling fran tically. Suddenly It shot down and nosed into & drainage ditch. The Moil iso ns, who had previously cut the ignition switch to prevent lirf. were thrown 15 feet clear of the ship. Attendants with pocket lamps, sought them tn the darkness. For God's sake, come over here." Molllson cried. They found him lying In the marsh, and not far away they came on Mrs. Molllson. Attendants tlaahed fabric from the plane for stretchers and hastened the pair to a hospital. Found Journey Hard. 'We found It a much more difficult Journey than we ever anticipated," Molllson told doctors as they ban daged abrasions on his legs and treat ed cuts on his face. "We had many head winds on the way over.' Bandagea were applied to Mrs. Mol- llson's right hand, lacerated in the crash, and abrasions on her legs were treated. Clad In white; with blue ear rings, she appeared pale. She said she was sorry they had not landed during daylight when 'they saw their gasoline running low. I wanted to land at Boston," she said. Dr. Isaac It. Harahbarger, who treated the couple, said: Molllson attributed the crash to hla fatigue and to the faot that he was trying to land on a strange field. He had been at the controls for about 37 hours. He certainly was very tired man." It was the second mishap for the Molllsona since they conceived the triangular flight aa a climax to their careers. On June 8, they tried leave Wales for New York, but their plane waa damaged on the takeoff. Last year Molllson flew from Eng land to New York, with an Interme diate stop near St. John, N. B. The Molllsons planned to leave Bridgeport for New York late today in an amphibian piloted by Ralph Wlckford, Boston pilot. One might question the degree of brass (even la the realm of shyster- Ism) displayed by "Attorney" tee Tracy in that twift moving, ambulance-chasing Indictment, The Nui sance" which opened at Bunt's Cra terian to a large house yesterday afternoon. But one will not ques tion the rare entertainment value of this extra clever film. Needless to say, with the Inimi table Tracy bobbing In and out of practically every foot of film, there it ncc a dull moment In It. But all the credit Isn't Tracy's by a long way. Great as he is, his laurels are con stantly threatened by the brilliant acting of that veteran stage actor. Prank Morgan. As the "shyster- doc tor, too fond of drink. Morgan's char acterization, while complimenting Tracy's, stands dangerously and artis tically on Its own feet. Then there is beautiful and capable Madge Evans, who does an outstand ing piece of work as the utility oor- noratlon's stool pigeon, hired to gather evidence on "the nuisance, and John Mlljan, who under the role of the corporation's "ethical" counsel, resorts to a brand of shysterism all his own. Well cast, beautifully directed and perfectly acted, thla Interesting play will appeal to all. And even If It dldnt there u aim the whole six rounds of the Sharkey- Carnera championship fight to draw the crowd. This interesting version unlike former fight pictures shown, Is well lighted and clear in every de tail o clear, In fact, that it was im possible for some of the local fisti cuff fans to refrain from typical ring Bide rooting during the ahowing. IE L Al Jolson Is Star Coming Rialto Hit Al Jolson, famous for making the flrat talkie and the originator of thi "mammy" songs, cornea to the Rlalto theater tomorrow In hla latest re lease, "Halleluiah, I'm a Bum." Onoe again, Jolson does something radically different on the screen, "Rhvthmlo dialogue" la new and la photographic music." In thla Jol son picture, both of these make their bow. And aa for aonga there are els of them, what would an Al Jolson show be without any songs? But. for the first time, he makes hla appear ance without a covering of black grease-paint over hla face. He'a his na tural self this time. Harry Langdon, Cheater Conklln, Madge Evans and Prang Morgan are In the supporting oaat. "Supernatural," a atory of the spir it world, with Carole Lombard fea tured, ahows for the last times tonight. Post commander Lee oairock wno haa Juat returned from a vlalt to the World'a fair In Chloago will give short talk on hla trip telling some of the unusual aldellghta on the cen tury of progress. Plana for a suitable representation of Medford post the Klamath convention will be made at tonlght'a session and every local Legion man should make special effort to attend. Following the post meeting a meet ing of the "40 et 8" Socletle will oe held to elect delegates and make plans for the 1933 convention next month. richarlTdIjun 'the great jasper' Richard Dlx's delightful flirt, ."'The Great jasper," is now playing at the Studio theater. Robust and virile, he captures one heart after another, but breaks only one I IGHIS FEATURE (Continued from Page One.) the Klelg lights were causing every one to perspire profusely. General Balbo rattled off about five minutes of Italian, his spade beard making large chopping gestures to ward the cameras, post had ao Idea what the Itallsn air minister was saying, except that occasionally he could distinguish the word "Wll-eee Pust." Suddenly, in the middle of Gen eral BaJbo's congratulatory discourse, there occurred a series of explosions. They came from a balcony, where the : till camera men hsd gathered, de termined to have vengeance upon the movie men and spoil all their efforts. The movie had to be started over again. General Balbo mopped his brow and gave hla speech. Post re plied tn kind. Colonel Balbo," he said, "I want to congratulate you, too. You are a a.rat hero." "Genera.," wnispered an interpre ter. "General Balbo. Mr. Post." Wiley is hard of hearing and didn't get It. There were two more explos ions and one of the still camera men on the balcony began pounding the floor with a club. "Keep quiet, you dirty muggsi" ex- c) ilmed one of the movie men. Post and General Balbo walked away, into the crowd. Both were sur rounded by newspapermen. Then Ue Trenholm, personal manager for Post, came Into the picture. "Wiley! Good Ood. Wiley!" he shouted. "Don't talk to those news papermen! You know better than that! You're under eon tract I Don't talk to them I" Post stared at him a moment, then raising his voice for the first time during the show, exclaimed: Well, how the hell come I'm in here?" iMarfcetf Livestock.
