Wheat Leads Grain Market in Wildest Advance of Recent Weeks
SMALLEST CROP
IN FORTY YEARS
Traders Strain Nerves to
Keep Pace With Deals
Provisions Up 17 to 40
Cents As Market Closes
CHCAGO, July 11. (AP) A furl
oiuly advancing market, the wlldMt
of many In recent weeks, took all
the leading gralm to new high price
racorda today.
What chleny aet tha marketa on
fire waa a government crop roport
ahowlng a wfieat yield under domes
tie requirements by mora than 100
000,000 bushels and the smallest In
40 years, aa well as a com crop small
er than any harvested In 30 years.
Every wheat tuturs went far over
the dollar mark and for the first
tlma rya also passed tha dollar a
bushel Una, soaring more than 10
cents a bushel on top of an 8-cent
tain yesterday.
t waa not a ahoutlng market, with
joyous roar that flrat showed recov
ery from tha bank holiday, but on
of deadly speed, with every nerve of
traders strung to tha highest pitch
for Instantaneous deal.
Rya prices wera especially atlmu.
ltaed b tha fact that the govern
ment forecast pointed to a rye yield
aubstantlally below domestic re
quirement. There also waa inoreaa
lng belief among tradera that use
of rye would be enlarged aa a result
of new taxes on wheat,
. All tha marketa closed flurried, rye
- eenta above yesterday's finish,
wheat 3U-4H up, oorn 354-3 ad
vanced, oata at H-lVi gain, and pro
visions ahowlng a rlsa of 17 to 40
oenta.

T suppose, men would call my reason
for liking Luckies just a feminine
whim. Maybe it is, but it's a whim
that love to indulge ... for I am
always conscious of the intimate
