KMITII PORTLAND, July 8. (SpV) In the distribution of the 19,100.000 federal highway public works fund, by the state highway commission and bureau of public roads, at Portland last week. Jackson county and aouthern Oregon fared exceedingly well. Thla 1, only the beginning of the straightening of the fiteklyou bottleneck of about 19 miles. Other appropriations are eX' pected to follow in aucceedlng years as the Paclflo highway la recognized as a super highway by the govern ment. The 19.100.000 was divided Into these parte 93,058.000 for major high' ways. 91.310,809 for secondary high ways including bridges and 91.738.000 for work In or near municipalities.
