Keating, con ductor for the Pullman company, who waa on the special train of CCC re cruits arriving from Jefferson Bar racks, Mo., will leave on this evening's trsln for his headquarters in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Keating arrived In Medford today. Accident Recorded Mlsa Valeria Whitney of Royalcrest Orchard on route 4, waa driving one of the au tomobiles which collided at the cor ner of Sixth and Ivy streets Sunday at 13:30 o'clock, a report filed at the city police atatlon shows. Frank Doty of Gold Hill was listed as driver of the other car. Precipitation Recorded Between 5 a. m., and S p. m.. Sunday a trace of rain was recorded for Medford, ac cording to the report of the federal weather bureau. Five hundreths of an Inch was the amount listed for the period between 5 p. m.. Sunday and S a. m., today. The total since September, 1932, now stands at 14.88 Inches. Return from Fair Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rlnard of 3 Catherine court, re turned to Medford Saturday from Washington, Iowa, where they visited their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Smith, and accom panied them to the world's fair at Chicago. The Rlnards reported the fair a wonderful attraction, and were astounded at the low prices. Fifty cents was charged for general admis sion, and they stated that "you could look for two months, without any additional cost, and never see the same things twice." Rainy 20 Years Ago A rainy day in June la not a new thing In Med ford, according to Mra. George Kuna man, who recalled thla morning that 20 years ago today, June 38. 1913. It rained all day. She remembere the time very well, also thst the Fourth of July fo lowing was the lsst one on which Medford held a celebration. The city park was the center of fes tivities and town and country turn ed out for civic parade, fireworks and the patriotic program In the park. LIEUT. HARRELL E Lieutenant Ben Hsrrell. who grad uated from the West Point 0. S. military academy June 13th as 3nd lieutenant, arrived Saturday night to visit his father, Joe Harrell. and friends In Medford, also relatives In Eugene until the middle of Septem ber, when he goes to Randolph Field. Texas, where he has been detailed as student officer In the air corps. Lieut. Harrell drove thru from West Point to Medford by auto, stop ping at Indianapolis, Ind., and Kan sas City. Mo., for short visits with classmates who accompanied him on the trip. He was Just six days driv ing time making the trip. He says John Conner who graduat ed at the same time he did will ar rive home 1n the near future. PARK OFFICES 10 T Offices of the Crater National park are being moved today to the park, for the summer activities, and the offices on the third floor of the fed eral building here, will be closed until the end of the park season. It was announced. It waa reported about town today that some tourists had been advised the park concessions were not open. The office stated that the lodge, cafeteria and stores are open at the present time, and are taking care of the trade at the lake.
