API Gov ernor Talmadge tore up papers being served on him in a 25,000 damage suit todsy while attending a luncheon, tossed them at the deputy making the service and had him and a com panion officer placed under arrest. The governor went to th luncheon accompanied by Adjutant Oeneral Undley Camp. Iafcer a deputy hand ed the paper to the executive, who rose to his feet and demanded; "What is this?" On being informed another deputy was suing him for having the officer placed under arrest In serving papers in an Injunction suit in which the governor was named. Gov. Southern Pacific company's operating revenues climbed to 11,116,377 m May, lifting income sufficiently to bring the system out of the red and nearly a million dollars into tne black. Net railway operating Income was 4979.462, compared with net op erating loss for April of 107.389. May operating net was well shove last year's level, of 593,709. but was insufficient to wipe out the loss of the preceding months. The five months operating deficit was W,192, 397, an increase of t.WG,B52 over the loss of the preceding year's like per iod.
