Maraachlno cherries
Pineapple, crushed
Grapefruit
Lemon Juice
Salt.
Mix white cherries, pineapple snd
grapefruit. Make a syrup of th mar
aschino, pineapple and cherry Juice
with little lemon Juice and a few
grains of salt to taste. Chill and pour
over the cold fruit mixture Juat be
fore aervlng. Oarnlsh with s maraa
chlno cherry.
Prultful Cocktail.
1 cup banana balls
1 cup grapefruit segments
1 cup orange segments
2 tablespoons lemon Juice .
Syrup.
Make ayrup of th fruit Juices with
sugar to taste. Pour over fruit and
chill. Sprinkle with a dash of nut
meg when ready to serve.
Orapejulce Cocktail.
H glass white grape Jules
a tablespoons white grapes
H glasa ginger ale.
Use chilled materials, adding ginger
al Juat before serving. Pour over
loe cubes or cracked Ice If desired,
Shasta, Baled,
Peach halves
Orapefrult segment
Cottage cheese
Caraway seed
Jelly.
Place peach half on lettuce lest
and fill center with cottage cheese
ball, which Is flavored with sweetened
fruit Juices and caraway seed. Sur
round peach with grapefruit seg
ments. Pour a little of the sweet
ened juice over all and garnish with
colorful Jelly.
Sunshine Salad
Pears, allced
Orange segments
Stuffed grapes
Honey dressing.
Alternate orange segments snd
slices of pear on bed of shredded let
tuce. Garnish with grapes stuffed
with cheeae or nut meats. Serve with
honey thinned with lemon Juice.
Cherry Salad.
Cherry Jell-o
White cherries
Cream mayonnaise
Parsley.
Pour Jell-o Into shallow pan snd
let atlften. Cut In cubes snd place
In dish with the cherries on nest of
shredded lettuce. Serve with mayon
naise thinned with whipped cream
and garnish with sprig of psrsley.
Pineapple Sandwiches.
Pineapple slices
Raisin snd nuts.
Split th slices of plneappj In two
piece. Spread on with a mlktur
of chopped raisin and nuts, mots-1
tened If necessary with little Juice,
and cover with the other piece of '
the alio. Serve on lettuce and nil
center with cheese on dressing If de- I

Hamilton, 34, wanted on a charge of
murdering Frank Tlmberlake, 70, l-
leged bootlegger, at Reedsport, was
taken In custody here today by Dtp
uty Sheriff McCabe snd Thornton
of Douglas county.
City and state police here said Ham
Uton admitted In s signed statement
that he sttscked Tlmberlske who was
111 and nearly blind. Hamilton was
arrested here late Thursdsy while
walking on Terwlliiger boulevard.
Officers said Hamilton told them
he was drinking at Tlmberlake'a place
on the night of June 0 and that the
other man quarreled over s trivial
matter. Hamilton attacked Timber-
lake with s club snd bottle, striking
him on the head. He said when the
elderly man fell unconscious, he rob
bed him of his watch snd diamond
ring, both of which were found m
the prisoner's knapsack.
Deputies McCabe and Thornton
said Tlmberlake died Monday with
out having made a statement. Hamil
ton left Reedsport Immediately after
tne brawl, not realizing how serious
ly Tlmberlske was hurt, he esid. The
Douglas county officers said he Is on
parole from San Quentln prison.
