A surrey of the leading orchards In the valley show the heaviest set ting of fruit that the valley has en Joyed for many years, according to Lyle P. Wilcox, county horticultur ist, and unless there Is definite late May and June drop, orchard lets will have to thin peers this summer. Blight is beginning to show up In few sress. Wilcox said, mainly In orchards where hold-over blight wss not properly cleaned out of the orchards last winter. Orchardlsts who watch their trees closely, snd keep lnfertlons down as much a possible while they sre In the spur, will have n minimum of blight dam age. Wilcox ssld. Despite rumors to the contrary, Wilcox ssld that most of the orch ards In the valley were being csred fo rthls year, at least more of the acresge. Several of the growers have not plowed, as yet, but plan to Irri gate and disc. Borne growers sre till pruning, Wilcox said. Only one of the larger growers is not caring for his orchard, according to re ports, but plans to Veep blight snd worms out ss much ss possible. Due to the nearness of the building site to the school and the fact that many of tho boys could not afford materials for projects of their own, the offer was accepted. All the materials for th ehoiue were purchased locally, the barn was wrecked by hired workmen, the exoa Tatlon done by the same. The doors and windows were purchased com plete from a local cabinet shop. We feel that the manual training boys and the architectural class un der the direction of Mr. Menteer, did excellent and unusual work on the building, and we deeply appreciate their efforts.
