R. 0. met with the local corps Saturday. 35 girls between the ages of 8 and 18 met with her at noon for lunch. Mrs. Calvert ts greatly encouraged by the readv response from this group of patriotic minded young girls, she re ported 1 Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Crine visited relatives on the Applegate Sunday. Benefit bridge party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Dubuque Wednesday evening, under the aus pices of the health unit proved a suc cessful event. Ten tables were played. First prlw was won by Sam Koehler. and consolation prlne by Eunice Ha ger of Ashland. Refreshments were served and an enjoyable time report ed. The money raised wilt be used for plumbing the health building. High school students were greeted with a fine attendance at the grange hall Friday night, for their program. Several fine orchestra numbers were given, also songs by the girls' glee club, and a playlet, "Farewell Cruel World." cast of characters : Misses Ethelwyn Scott, Mona Lewis and Al ice Maple. Eagle Point grange will put on the program for the Central Point or ganisation at the meeting April 31. Mr. and Mrs. J. Mr. Morse and family moved to Ash land 36 years ago. where they re sided for six years, then buying a ranch In Valley view where they . have since resided. Mr. Morse was a fine Christian man.
