BEER TO INCREASE
CHEESE SALE SAYS
Increased consumption of a. Rogue
river valley product as a result of the
legalization of beer was forecast to
day by C. M. Churchill, general man
ager of the Central Point cheese
plant, who addressed the Klwanls
club at luncheon at the Hotel Med-
ford. By putting a little more salt
in the cheese, he stated, the thirst
for more beer can be aroused. The
satisfaction of the thirst will In turn
arouse Vie desire for more cheese
and so a prosperous circle for brew
eries and cheese makers will result.
The process of manufacture of the
Central Point cheese was described
to the club by Mr. Churchill and to
make his description authentic, he
gave each guest At the luncheon a
slash of the product.
The Central Point plant Is now
handling 000 gallons of milk a day
In the manufacture of cheese, .he
stated, and Is equipped to care for
2000 gallons. The plant was con
structed to handle 4000- gallons of
milk a day, which Is the goal of the
company.
Walter Olmscheld, recently ap
pointed sheriff of Jackson county to
succeed Oordon L. Schermerhora,
suspended from office for 00 days,
was a guest at today's club luncheon
and assured the Klwanlans that he
will try to give the office proper ad
ministration during the period of his
appointment.
A. H. Banwell, secretary af the
chamber of commerce, described de
velopments of the "Clean-up and
Falnt-up" campaign and announced
the annual home products banquet
of the chamber of commerce to be
held a week from tomorrow.
