At Local Hotel
' College Women'a club of the Rogue
River Valley met Saturday at the
Hotel Medford for the club's annual
luncheon. Ovur forty members and
guests enjoyed the hospitality of the
Medford. Miss Fay Woolasy, assist
ed by Mrs. Harris James and Mrs.
Robert Hammond were hostesses. The
tables were most attractive with
baskets of polnsettss, heather and
fems and lighted with tall tapers In
blending colors.

ture or the program and Included
two vocal solo by Mr. Wright. Miss
Marjorle Psley, great grand daughter

chapter was named, played two violin
solos, and Mrs. Strang also enter
tained with two vocal numbers,
which were muoh enjoyed.

bouquet of red carnation and fern

pressed in rose duos and narcissi. They

At Federated Church
Seventy-clx plates were laid for the
mothers ind daughters banquet, held
at the Federated church of Central
Point on Thursday evening. There
were forty girls from the Bible school
snd Christian Endeavor present. A
fine turkey dinner waa served follow
ing the blessing, asked by Mis Helen
Carlton. Songs were aung and follow
ing dinner Rev. J. M. Johnson, pas
tor of the church, introduced the
speaker of pie evening, Mrs. B. N.
Warner of Medford.
Mrs. Warner read from the Bible a
story of a mother and her tender
care of her child, and basing her re
marks upon that story gave both
mother and daughter many funda
mental, beautiful and touching
truths, that, Indeed, will make the
lives of both more useful and happy,
and will help to establish, and main
